The Passion Behind Ferris Organics
Chef Joshua Ferris is full of contradictions, but there is not an inconsistency about him. A large and imposing figure, Chef Joshua immediately disarms you with his warm smile and kind words. He grew up into a large Lebanese family, where cooking was a way of life. Yet he was quickly drawn to the warmth and generosity of Italian cuisine. He was groomed to take over his father’s business as a financial advisor, but could not escape his passion for cooking. Amid these contradictions you can find Chef Joshua’s true heart – a drive to follow his passion and share it with others.
Joshua Ferris was born and raised in Dover, Delaware. After graduating from Wesley College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, he began his long-awaited career as a financial advisor. Soon growing restive with the monotony of office life, Chef Joshua committed to his lifelong dream of becoming a Chef.
It was off to Italy. He enrolled in the famed Florence Culinary Art School, learning the techniques and cultural underpinnings that find expression in Italian cuisine. Following his culinary studies, he worked under the tutelage of Giuseppe Mancino, the famed Chef and inspiration behind Piccolo Principe, which has been adorned with two Michelin stars.
Seven years later, Chef Joshua has had an amazing journey as a private chef, traveling the world and catering to elite clients. Currently working for an UHNW family as their chef while running Ferris Organics
Chef Joshua’s approach to food is simple and classical: he uses fresh, seasonal organic ingredients purveyed by local farmers and butchers. It is with this foundation that he is able to transmit Mediterranean history and cultural richness into his inspired dishes.
